Our Story
At Next Step Learning Center, we believe all children deserve a safe place to grow, learn, and feel supported. We know that the early years of life are very important for every child’s future.
Our teachers understand that these challenges can affect how a child feels, acts, and learns. That’s why we train each teacher to notice when a child needs extra help and to respond with kindness, patience, and care.
We are here to guide each child through their own journey. No matter where they start, we help them take the next step with confidence.
We proudly participate in the Alabama Family Guidance Program and the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), ensuring families have access to quality care and children receive nutritious daily meals that fuel healthy growth and learning.
Our focus is on fostering confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning, helping each child take their “next step” with courage, readiness, and the tools to thrive both in school and in life.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up for Our Afterschool Program
At Next Step Learning Center, your child’s safety is our top priority from the moment they arrive until they are safely in your care.
Morning Drop-Off: Parents and guardians may drop off their child at our center beginning at 6:00 AM. (We do not provide home pick-up services) children must be brought to our daycare for morning drop-off.
School Pick-Up: Our trained staff provides reliable after school transportation from local schools directly to our center. Upon arrival, each child is checked in using our secure digital check-in system, which records the time and confirms their presence.
Parent/Guardian Pick-Up: Our center closes promptly at 5:30 PM. Children are only released to authorized individuals listed on the child’s file, and each pick-up is verified through our secure check-out process to ensure your child leaves with the correct person every time.
Our check-in and check-out system provides real-time safety tracking and peace of mind, knowing your child’s arrival and departure are documented and monitored with the utmost care.
